This effect has been achieved using a smart setup of 4 cameras and custom shaders writing to depth buffer only. Neither stencil buffer not render textures have been used as they are unavailable in the free version of Unity3D. This technique allows also for perfect rendering of mirrors and water reflections. Hopefully a tutorial will be coming soon. Cheers!
That’s pretty cool, I’m hunting for something similar. Would it work on other non-quad shapes?
Yea, shapes don’t matter at all. One could put whatever regular Unity scene full with extremely complicated geometry and shaders etc etc.
just asking if there’s any progress about this tutorial please?
I need this. I have been searching for this a long time. I found a way to make a television show view from a camera, but that only gives a two dimensional static image.
If only you could publish the project files so it might be studied while the tutorial is on the way.
Bless you guys!
Any news on that tutorial? or maybe the source?
